Oct 19th:

  • Tale:
    • Sage Kardama and Devahuti, daugther of Manu and Satarupa, get married.
    • As per Lord's wish, Kardama becomes a monk after 9 daughters and a son, Kapila, were born.
    • Kapila found Samkhya philosophy.
  • Chanting:
    • 3rd shloka from Dasavatara Sthotram.
    • 2nd shloka from Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 15

Oct 12th:

  • Tale:
    • Jaya & Vijaya cursed to be born on Earth by Sanathkumaras.
    • If we do wrong actions, we face its consequences.
    • Hiranyaksha's birth and how Lord Vishnu killed him in Varaha Avatara.
    • Lord's party - We make heaven and hell by our own thoughts and actions.
    • Story of six blind men and the elephant - The secret of creating heaven to to have the complete picture.
  • Quiet Time:
    • Chanting "Om namo Narayanaya" in mind for 2 mins.
  • Chanting:
    • 3rd shloka from Dasavatara Sthotram.

Oct 5th:

  • Tale:
    • Varaha Avatara - Lord Vishnu comes in the form of a boar and lifts Mother Earth from under the water.
    • Story of the Ant and the Pigeon where the pigeon helps the ant and the ant in turn saves the pigeon from the hunter.
    • The story of the Old man and Walnut Tree where the old man shows gratitude to the work done by his previous generations by contributing to the future generations.
  • Quiet Time:
    • Chanting "Om namo Narayanaya" in mind for 2 mins.
  • Chanting:
    • 2nd shloka from Dasavatara Sthotram.
    • 1st shloka from 15th chapter of Bhagavad Gita.

Sep 28th:

  • Tale:
    • King Parikshit gets cursed that he would be killed by a snake Takshaka in a week.
    • Parikshit meets Sukadeva, the son of Vyasa, on the bank of river Ganga.
    • Sukadeva starts to narrate the story of Lord's divine play, Bhagavatam.
  • Quiet Time:
    • Chanting "Om namo Narayanaya" in mind for 2 mins.
  • Chanting:
    • 1st shloka from Dasavatara Sthotram.

Sep 21st:

  • Tale:
    • King Parikshit sees Kali(Spirit of Kali Yuga) torguring the bull( a personification Dharma - where the three lost legs were austerity, purity and kindness)
    • Since Kali seeks refuge, Parikshit allows Kali to live in places of gambling, drinking, curelty, greed etc.
    • If we love all, do not hurt anyone, be kind and speak the truth, we can create Satya yuga.
  • Discussion:
    • Interesting discussion on the 4 yugas, the duration of each of the yugas and people's longitivity during those yugas.
  • Chanting:
    • 1st shloka from Dasavatara Sthotram.

Sep 14th:

  • Tale:
    • Who is Narada?
    • Vyasa asks Narada why he wasn't satisfied inspite of his possession of knowledge and having written the Vedas and several Puranas.
    • Narada suggests to teach people how to think right and sing glories of the Lord.
    • Vyasa starts to compose Bhagavatam.
  • Chanting:
    • Shloka listing Dasavataras

                      matsya kurma varahasya
                      narasimhasya vamana
                      ramo ramasya krishnasya
                      buddha kalki revacha

Sep 7th:

  • Tale:
    • How Ganesha got his elephant head
    • Why we celebrate Ganesha Chaturthi.
  • Puja:
    • Participated in Ganesha Puja.
