Feb.8th: Hari Om, today kids started learning a new rhyme - chanda mama rave jabilli rave song from their text book. They enjoyed singing this. Please help kids to learn this at home. They practiced writing letters.
Feb.1st: Hari Om, today we had very low attendance. We enjoyed singing rhymes and practiced writing letters. Kids received treats for doing their best in Telugu association program in the temple yesterday.

Jan.25th. Kids did a good job on the stage during CMH Sankranti program.
Happy Republic Day! Kids enjoyed singing rhymes and practicing alphabets. We will learn new rhymes from next week.
Jan. 11th: Happy New Year and Happy Pongal! We had a group practice of SSNM song. Encourage your kids to sing at home. Kids made beautiful Sankranti cards for their family. Hope to see you all on Sankranti festival day at CMH.

Today we spent our time singing rhymes. All the rhymes we have learnt so far. We learnt counting numbers 1 to 10 in telugu. For kindergarten kids 1 to 20. Kids learnt how to express when it is cold and hot in telugu.( when it is cold: Challa ga vundi , when it is hot : vedi ga vundi) .
Practice writing letters ( e , ee) and " a aa lu didudamu " rhyme.

We started with our regular prayer slokas and continued learning " a aa lu didudamu rhyme" from our telugu level 1 book.we had a fun time with a story from our telugu book. Story about a crow. We have also done a small experiment with a glass of water and beads to see how water came up when crow put some pebbles in the pot. Kids liked it a lot.

This week we revised the topics we learnt so far.names of colors in telugu, names of the week
(adi varamu, soma varamu, ...), vegetable names, and telugu letters (aa to aha).
We contiue learning the rhyme (a ,aa lu diddudaam amma mata vindamu) in page 16th level 1 book. kids made the letters (a,aa) on construction paper with wool and they enjoyed doing it.

We started with our Prayer songs, Then reviewed names of the colors and vegetable names in telugu.
We started a new rhyme (a, aa lu diddudaam ) its in page 16 level 1 telugu book.
And a story from telugu level 1 book page 24. Its about a crow.Ask u r kids what the crow did to drink the water.

Sorry for posting the class updates late
we talked how everyone in the class celebrated deepavali . kids saw some real vegetables whose names ends with "kaya" like ( Gummadi kaya, sora kaya, benda kaya, dosa kaya, kakarakaya ....).
They had lot of fun looking at the real vegetables and knowing there names in telugu.
When u go to Indian Grocery store ask u r kids to tell the vegetable names in telugu.

kids told what breakfast they had in the morning in telugu ( nenu ... tinnanu , nenu .... taganu).
we learnt days of the week in telugu ( Adi varamu, Soma varamu,....).
we talked about deepavali panduga. How it is celebrated and about kids favorite fire works. we saw different types of fire works and the names in telugu like sparklers( kakarapuvothu), flower pots (Chichubuddi) and the one which make sounds (Tapasulu) Whirlwinds (Bhoochakralu). Kids liked to say the fireworks names in telugu
We reviewed rainbow colors.
Kids made deepavali card for their parents.

This week after the regular prayers we talked about dasara festival,and about Bathukamma. Kids enjoyed dancing around bathukamma while clapping and singing.
They also saw this video of how to make a real bathukamma with fresh flowers.
Last week was mahatma gandhi's birthday so we sang a song on him
Practice tracing letters ( అ, ఆ) and to learn this song on ganesha at home.

We started our class with slokams and song on krishna. The song and slokams are there on the front page of telugu level 1 book.

We talked about the words that start with letters (A , Aa). And learnt festival means panduga in telugu and we talked about dassara panduga.

Kids learnt how to ask " r u fine" ," we are fine" in telugu ( Meeru Bagavunnara,Memu Bagavunnamu )
Learnt how to ask names to each other in telugu ( nee peru enti , Mee peru enti , naa peru ).
We started the first two aksharalu in telugu ( A , Aa)., words start with them. Kids also trace the letters
(A , Aa) and there names in telugu.
Sep14th, 2014: Welcome to CMH Telugu Class for Pre-K and Kindergarten kids! We had a wonderful begining with a conversation about summer holidays. Kids said their names and asked their friend's name in the class in telugu. Kids were introduced to a beautiful song on Ganesha, Dhandalayya Undrallayya...... They will learn pallavi of this song. Kids started writing with Om NamaH Shivaya and their name in telugu.
